I have a hard time taking care of myself. From the moment I wake up, my head thumping with ideas, until the moment I go to sleep, I’m constantly moving to get everything done.

In the process, things start to hurt, and it’s no wonder. A lot of what we do is repetitive. Our ancestors were blessed and cursed with the need to do everything and anything to keep themselves alive - from climbing trees to picking berries to hunting prey. This kept their bodies dynamic, flexible and limber - because our bodies were meant to move.

I’ve begun taking 15 minutes each morning to stretch. I try to stretch in all different ways, whatever feels good. This 1 thing has made getting started each morning much more pleasant.

As far as finding the time goes, my thinking is that if I can’t spare at least 15 minutes every day to take care of myself, why bother getting up?
